the mine
*Write a Letter to the Editor to your local paper

*Join a local coalition group or form your own group to fight the negative impacts of the mine in
your community
*Submit a comment to the Utah Division of Air
Quality in their upcoming review of Alton Coal Mine's air quality permit
*Attend
an upcoming hearing with the Utah Supreme Court and show our judges that you don't support the contamination of your air,
water and land
*Contact your local Tourism Board or Chamber
of Commerce to express yoour concern for your business
*Contact
Governor Gary Herbert and ask him to do everything in his power to stop the mine and return the $10k he accepted from Alton
Coal Development
*Contact your local representatives and tell
them you do not support the mine or any candidate for office who will
*Volunteer
a few hours of your time to participate in phone banks or help set up for local events
*Contribute your professional talents or skills, such as potography, design, writing and public speaking
*Become a spokesperson for our cause, and lend your voice for media outreach
*Submit a testimonial for the website describing how the mine could negatively impact
your residence, business or expereince in a national park
*Send
us pictures of you and your business and explain why you are opposed to the mine, or why you support it
*Contact Bureau of Land Management and express your concern about the mine
*Contact Army Core of Engineers and thanks them for their review of the site as
a wetland area, and encourage further action

questions, comments, rants and raves, suggestions for an event in your area or tell us how to improve our website
